Looking for a comedy show or open mic in Manhattan? This is the second post in a series featuring some of the best stand-up comedy venues in the city.
You can find each of these five comedy clubs in Downtown, Manhattan. Whether you’re a local or visiting, be sure to stop by a show or mic for some of the most talented comics working today.

St Marks Comedy Club | 12 St Marks Pl, New York, NY 10003
St. Marks Comedy Club is a speakeasy style comedy club in the East Village, hidden down a long hallway and past a black curtain Comic Alex Carabaño (BET, HBOmax) and his brother Danny own and operate the club. St Marks also happens to be the only vegan comedy club in the country.
The club hosts mics Wednesday at 5PM, Thursday at 6PM, and twice on Saturday at 4PM & 6PM.

Tribeca Comedy Lounge and Dark Horse Comedy | 22 Warren St. New York, NY 10007 & 57 Murray Street, New York, NY 10007
TimeOut NY voted The Tribeca Comedy Lounge “best newcomer.” World-class chefs helm the menu, so if you care about good food at your shows, Tribeca Comedy Lounge is the place to be. The same team owns Dark Horse Comedy, where they feature more unknown and local talent.

Sesh Comedy | 140 Eldridge St, New York, NY 10002
Comics Jamie Wolf and Lucas Zelnick run this DIY BYOB LES club. Innumerable standup clips feature the now-iconic neon sign. Videos don’t quite capture the intimate feel of the renovated Chinatown storefront.
You can catch Juan Disemo hosting the Flowstate Mic here twice a day Tuesdays-Fridays.

New York Comedy Club | 85 East 4th St New York, NY 10003 & 241 East 24th St. New York, NY 10010
The New York Comedy Club is a scene staple. The brick wall and bar-style seating really give both of its locations a classic comedy feel. Attend a show, open mic, or one of the club’s famous roast battles. The club also offers stand-up classes for beginners.
The Hot Topic Mic is here every Saturday at 2 and Monday at 5. Every Wednesday at 5:30, Alex Kim hosts We Wear Pink, a Women and LGBTQIA+-specific open mic. On Friday the club hosts the Q Lab open mic at 5.

Gotham Comedy Club | 208 W 23rd St, New York, NY 10011
Gotham comedy club might be one of the most famous names in New York Comedy. Countless comics and networks have chosen Gotham to film their specials and shows. Though they don’t host mics, they do have several classes for developing writers of all levels.

The Stand has become a place for the cream of the crop to hone their skills. The club hosts an open mic every Wednesday at 6PM. The Laughing Buddha Comedy team hosts mics Saturday at 2:30PM and Mondays at 5PM.
